Casa de SAM is taking shape one careful step at a time. Here is where the project stands today and what is beginning to move forward.

Current stage
Casa de SAM is still a developing vision for a lifelong residential community in Paraguay. We are documenting the model, researching the legal and practical work it will require, and building the tools and relationships that can help us test the vision responsibly.
Nonprofit status
Casa de SAM is not yet a registered nonprofit and is not accepting donations. Forming the organization well matters more than creating the appearance that we are farther along than we are.
This page will be updated when that status changes, along with any practical information readers need to verify it.
New planning resource
I wrote this workbook for families trying to decide where limited time, money, energy, and teaching effort are most likely to improve a disabled person's future life.
It is not an answer key. It is a way to count the full cost of a goal, define the return more honestly, and remember that Sam is not your child.

We are beginning to look for thoughtful people who may be willing to help shape Casa de SAM's governance. The right board will need more than enthusiasm. It will need judgment, follow-through, humility, and a willingness to challenge my assumptions when the evidence or the people affected point somewhere else.
A dedicated board page with the role, expectations, and a way to express interest is in development.
What has not changed
The planned opening remains March 16, 2035. The aim remains a real home for adults with lifelong support needs, built around dignity, safety, relationships, choice, calm, and joy.
The plan is allowed to change. The people who may one day live there matter more than my attachment to any particular version of it.
